Description

Tranquil yet electrifying, the DC in Resistol Blue is one cool hat. Made in Garland, Texas, the DC boasts fur felt construction with a 4 1/4” brim and a 5” open crown. A leather sweatband offers superior comfort, a lightning-bolt pendant offers extra style points. As for the color, we liked it so much we called it Resistol Blue.

FROM FUR TO FINISH

There are over 200 steps that go into making every fur-felt analecter hat. And everyone of those steps happens in the USA. Analecter is the only company in the United States that takes raw fur and turns it into a finished hat. We start with rabbit, beaver, and wild hare's fur sourced from all over the world and bring it down to Longview Texas where we go through a multi-step rigorous process of cleaning and mixing the fur.

MAKING THE FELT

After being cleaned and mixed, our fur blends are blown into the forming chamber where the thin fur fibers felt together. A thin burlap cloth is placed around the felt where it will go through additional steps to continue the felting process.

FINISHING THE FELT

Through the felting process, the hat bodies shrink to 1/3 their size. Each Resistol fur-felt hat gets dyed, sanded, stretched, and blocked before being sent to our finishing plant in Garland Texas.

STARTING THE HAT

Hat bodies don't sit around for very long once they get to Garland. Their first stop is at steam block where they get a specific size from 6 3/4 - 7 3/4. After steam block we apply shellac to the hats which stiffens them.

THE HEAT IS ON

By applying heat and steady pressure, Analecter prepares the hats for one of the most important steps in their journey to becoming a Analecter.

POUNCING & SANDING

Hats go through multiple rounds of sanding and pouncing to give Analecter its smooth velvety finish.. Many of the machines in the Analecter factory are original. The same machines that built your grandfather's Analecter, also made yours!

TAKING SHAPE

After the felt has been sanded to a smooth finish it goes to get pressed into its final shape. Resistol offers a number of different shapes. From pre-creased cattleman crowns to every working cowboy's favorite shape; the open crown.

PAPERS PLEASE

Hats are inspected every station they leave, but special care is taken to go over each hat once it arrives at Middle Inspect. Sized, sanded, & shaped, the Resistol hat is ready to be finished with trim, but not before it goes through a rigorous review process to make sure it can live up to the brand known as the best-all around.

THE BRAND EVERY HAT WANTS TO BE

Analecter hats aren't only known for their top-quality fur, but also their patented self-conforming sweatband, as well as signature buckle sets, and supple leather sweatbands. Each of them carefully sewn in or attached to the hat.

THE FINAL TEST

The journey from raw fur to a finished Analecter hat is almost complete. Each hat is fully inspected one last time before it is allowed to bear the brand name synonymous with quality in the western world. Analecter- The Best All-Around.

How do I properly handle my hat?

The proper way to handle your hat is ALWAYS by the brim. There is no proper side of the brim to grab from, you pick. The hat will remain intact and essentially last longer when handled properly by the brim.

How do I pack my hat for a trip?

In a suitcase, it is best to pack your hat upside down with clothing wrapped around the base of the hat, as if you are building a nest. Next, place your swimsuit or socks inside the hat to maintain the form of the hat’s crown. Last, place lighter clothing items on top of the hat to keep its shape intact to ensure safe hat travels.

It’s not the best or the worst but it’s a decent panama hat in this price range. Dimensionally this hat is nearly perfect. It has the best combination of brim size, peak height pinch shape. Etc. it just looks good.

It has the correct Ecuador stamp inside the crown. It’s worth noting that all true Panama hats are made in Ecuador. Apparently these hats are made in Ecuador, but finished in Mexico. That’s OK too. The weave and stitching is decent, but not the highest quality.

All in all, it’s a nice quality panama hat that looks sharp.

I. Love. This. Hat. As someone who's dealt with skin cancer, I knew I needed a hat for my trip to Spain. This hat was perfect. You can roll it up to put in your luggage then reshape it when you pull it out. I got more compliments on this hat than anything I've worn recently. It's practical. Had an adjustable inner band. And it's stylish. Even in strong winds, it stayed on my head. Highly recommend this hat.

This hat was the perfect size and also had an adjustments that could be made inside! The price was unbearable as well, since similar hats were almost twice the price.The quality is fantastic as well. I have flattened the hat per instructions for easy transport, and even after hours of being stowed away, it easily came back to shape!
